Choosing a platform

Are Wint Wealth, Grip, Stable, Aspero and other bond apps safe or legit?

Wint Wealth, Grip Invest, Stable Bonds and Aspero are SEBI registered stock brokers enabled as online bond platforms on NSE (Wint since 16th Aug 2023, Grip since 29th Aug 2023, Stable since 20th Mar 2024, Aspero since 8th Oct 2024), so they are legitimate intermediaries. Registration does not protect you if the company whose bond you buy fails to pay, so each bond's issuer, lowest rating and seniority still decide how safe your money is.

Verified

Whether a bond app is safe is really 2 questions with different answers: is the platform a registered, clean intermediary, and are the bonds it sells likely to be repaid.

Is the platform legit?

Registry data from NSE's list dated 14th Oct 2026 and BSE's file dated 24th Sep 2026 (NSE, BSE); orders from SEBI (Aspero order, Wint order).

2 points cause most of the confusion online. Stable Broking closed its BSE bond platform business but still runs on NSE with its own CDSL depository participant, and its own footer marks the BSE code inactive (Stable Bonds). And the Stable Investments named in SEBI's 18th Nov 2024 order against unregistered platforms is a different company, Berkelium Technologies Pvt Ltd, not Stable Money (SEBI order). Registered OBPPs follow the stock broker grievance process, so SCORES and exchange arbitration are open to you (SEBI NCS Master Circular).

Are the bonds they sell safe?

Not automatically. Wint's App Store listing advertises 9% to 12% fixed returns (App Store), and a TradingQnA user posted a BBB+ bond on Wint in Apr 2026 (TradingQnA). Aspero's about page claims an AA- to BBB range, yet on 17th Oct 2026 it listed Samunnati Finance and RDC Concreteindia at BB+, which is below investment grade (Aspero about, Aspero). Stable's live list ran up to 11.90% on 17th Oct 2026, mostly from NBFC and microfinance issuers (Stable Bonds). Grip sells securitised debt instruments as well as bonds; a lease pool originated by a Grip affiliate, PIRG SDI 4 Trust, was rated CRISIL BB- (SO) in Mar 2025 after lessee defaults, with no investor payout miss stated (CRISIL).

Wint's "0.00% defaults till date" and Stable's ₹1,859 crore repaid with zero defaults are self-reported, read on 17th Oct 2026. A platform's history says little about the next issuer it lists: TruCap Finance NCDs, sold to retail investors through several platforms, went to CARE D on 18th Jul 2025 and were repaid late with penal interest (CARE, Catalyst Trusteeship).

What happens to my bonds if the platform has trouble?

Trades settle through the exchange clearing corporation into a demat in your name, so a platform closing does not cancel your bonds, and interest comes from the issuer. Platform-only features would not survive: Wint's sell-back works only for bonds bought through Wint and held in its own demat (Wint terms). See are the bonds in my own demat and what if the issuer defaults.

How do I check any platform myself?

Match the SEBI number in the app's footer to the NSE and BSE files, then read the terms for custody, fees and exit. How to check SEBI registration walks through it, and each platform review, such as Wint Wealth, lists the facts with sources.
