How do I buy corporate bonds on Zerodha?

As of 17th Oct 2026 Zerodha has no online bond platform for corporate bonds: NSE's OBPP list, updated 14th Oct 2026, shows Zerodha Broking as "Not enabled". You can still buy listed NCDs and bonds on the Kite exchange order book like a share, and bid for G-secs, T-bills and SDLs with no Zerodha fee since 1st Mar 2024; bond IPOs must be applied for through net banking ASBA.

Zerodha does not yet offer corporate bonds through the exchange RFQ route that bond apps use. NSE's list of online bond platform providers, updated 14th Oct 2026, shows Zerodha Broking as "Not enabled", and it is not on BSE's list at all (NSE OBPP list, BSE OBPP list). What Zerodha users can do today is buy listed bonds on the exchange order book and bid for government securities.

How do I find a listed NCD on Kite?

Listed bonds sit on the exchange under compressed symbols such as 81ABFL33, which users on TradingQnA describe as very hard to guess (TradingQnA). Find the bond's exchange symbol or ISIN first, then search Kite for it. Before you buy:

  • Use a limit order. Bond order books are thin and the last traded price can be days old.
  • Remember the order book price is the dirty price, so accrued interest is already in it. A Kite user who expected accrued interest to be added on top in Jul 2026 found it was not (TradingQnA).
  • Expect Console to show the dirty price as your buy average (Zerodha support).
  • Check traded volume, because you will need a buyer if you want to sell before maturity.

What happened to bonds on Coin?

Zerodha launched a corporate bonds platform on Coin on 18th Jun 2020 and stopped offering corporate bonds there by 7th Dec 2021 (TradingQnA). On 11th Oct 2024 Zerodha staff said the plan was to bring bonds to Kite and pointed users to GoldenPi or Wint Wealth in the meantime (TradingQnA). In Feb 2026 staff estimated the timeline as a couple of quarters (TradingQnA), and on 26th Aug 2026 the Free Press Journal reported that Zerodha had SEBI approval and was testing internally, with no launch date (Free Press Journal).

Can I get RFQ corporate bonds into my Zerodha demat?

Yes, through a platform that delivers to your existing demat. GoldenPi says bonds sit in the investor's own demat, and Jiraaf says units go to a demat at any DP and names Zerodha (GoldenPi, Jiraaf). Wint Wealth now opens its own demat for you instead (Wint). Neither GoldenPi nor Wint is part of Zerodha; see Is GoldenPi or Wint Wealth part of Zerodha?.
