Bond platform
Altifi review
Altifi suits investors who want a broad fixed income menu, from G-secs and T-bills to NCD IPOs, SDIs and 54EC bonds, settled into the demat they already have. The catches: its parent Northern Arc Capital may be the seller on the platform, its revenue model is not disclosed, and most corporate bonds cost about ₹1 lakh per unit despite a ₹1,000 headline.

Is Altifi safe?
Altifi is run by Northern Arc Securities, a SEBI registered stock broker (INZ000318831) enabled as an online bond platform on NSE since 25th Oct 2024 and Active on BSE since 30th May 2025, and no SEBI or exchange action against it was found as of 17th Oct 2026. Check it on the registry. Registration covers the platform, not the issuers (are bond platforms safe).
Its complaints register shows 4 complaints in FY24-25, 7 in FY25-26 and 8 so far in FY26-27, with 6 received in Sep 2026, of which 1 was pending. The NNPA figures on its homepage (0.1% in Mar 2024, 0.4% in Mar 2025, 0.6% in Mar 2026) describe Northern Arc Capital's own loan book, not bonds sold on Altifi.
Two stressed issuers appear in its history. A blog dated 24th Jul 2025 named Altifi among platforms that sold TruCap Finance NCDs (reported); CARE cut TruCap to D on 18th Jul 2025, and six ISINs were fully redeemed with penal interest by 23rd Sep 2025. Altifi also listed Satya MicroCapital's 13.00% NCD (INE982X07341, Acuité BBB+) in 2024 and blogged about it in May 2024; that bond had matured or been redeemed by Mar 2025. See what happens if an issuer defaults.
Who is selling you the bond on Altifi?
Sometimes the parent. Altifi's regulatory disclosure says "NACL may also be a seller of securities on the platform", and that the interests of Northern Arc Capital or Northern Arc Securities may conflict with those of Altifi's users. When Northern Arc launched Altifi on 23rd Jun 2021, it said the platform would offer debt issued by its clients, Northern Arc's own borrowers in microfinance, small business, vehicle and gold loans.
Northern Arc Capital is a listed NBFC with aggregate assets managed of ₹19,843 cr at 30th Jun 2026, including lending AUM of ₹16,855 cr. On Altifi, then, the seller can be a group company and the issuer a borrower of that group. For a side by side view, see Altifi vs Wint Wealth.
What do you actually pay on Altifi?
Altifi does not disclose how it earns: no fee, spread or markup is published, and its site says only that applicable fees and charges are shown before you invest. Whether the YTM shown includes a markup is not disclosed. The only check available is to compare the same ISIN with other platforms and the exchange (same bond, different yield).
Can you sell Altifi bonds before maturity?
There is no buyback. Altifi's terms say any redemption, sale, transfer or exit is governed by the terms of the product and by market conditions, and no exit fee or sell feature was found. Because the bonds sit in your own demat, you can sell through a broker if a buyer exists (can I sell a bond before maturity).
Where do your bonds sit?
In your own demat: Altifi's bond pages say they are available for users with a demat account at either NSDL or CDSL, and no Altifi depository participant is disclosed. Trades settle through NSE Clearing and/or ICCL, with payments through RBI-regulated payment aggregators; the T+ cycle is not stated. KYC is online, fetched from CKYC, KRAs or DigiLocker. See platforms that use your existing demat.
What kind of bonds does it sell?
Altifi lists corporate bonds, G-secs, SDLs, T-bills, SGBs, 54EC bonds, municipal and green bonds, commercial paper, NCD IPOs, securitised debt instruments, bond SIPs and baskets, FDs and mutual funds. Its footer puts inventory returns at 8% to 14%, though the list also carries a 5.80% G-sec. A live example on 17th Oct 2026 was Aye Finance's senior secured bond, rated A+ by India Ratings, with a 9.75% coupon and 10.45% YTM.
The minimum depends on the bond. The homepage advertises bonds from ₹1,000, the 2021 launch release said ₹10,000, and 1 unit of the Aye Finance bond cost ₹99,347.38 (minimum investment). Altifi claims 1,00,000+ registered users, based on FY26 annual report disclosures (self-reported, read on 17th Oct 2026), against 5K+ Play Store downloads.
